“Kotznik” is one of a series of 10 such works that Franz West produced personally a few months before his death, a direct spontaneous reaction to the medical environment with which he was now constantly confronted in hospital. The one shown bears the number 5.
Another example of the series was auctioned in Paris in December 2022 and achieved a price of € 77,000.
