Galaxy by John Armleder is a Furniture Sculpture developed for his most recent solo-exhibition in Vienna in 2015. The Furniture Sculptures, in which Armleder arranges icons of design objects and extending them with the addition of items or materials (adding paint to the object itself or, paintings sculptures and suchlike) to create an Artwork by his signature he is most recognised for. In this particular piece the design Object “Galaxy-Chair” is by no one less than Walter Pichler, the famous Austrian Artist and Architect known for his early works such as a series called Radical Architecture, Prototypes, design object and his latter artistic work with his unique sculptural environment at his studio in Burgenland.
