Something in the Water

The work is the result of a collaboration between Oscar Tuazon and Peter Sandbichler. Fjk3 brought together both artistic practices at the last exhibition Oscar Tuazon—Words for Water, which focused on Tuazon’s ecological concerns, the social and political engagement they engender and raising awareness for water as the basis of all areas of life.
Tuazon’s artistic practice is rooted in collective thinking and the creation of spaces for encounter and reflection, blurring the line between sculpture and social infrastructure. In this project, Sandbichler was able to develop a design that reflects the thinking of both artists: the notion of a living, unfinished sculpture that is only completed through its use by visitors. His modular constructions, made from recycled cardboard, explore the intersection of sculpture and architecture and derive their strength from the interplay between perfection and deformation.
