objective correlative - PETER SANDBICHLER PETER SANDBICHLER, objective correlative

Peter Sandbichler (*1964, AT) is a conceptual sculptor whose work connects sociopolitical questions with fundamental aspects of sculptural aesthetics—addressing issues of surface, space, and time as much as materiality, form, and process. Working across different media, he creates pieces that range from small-scale sculptures and large spatial objects to installation-based configurations and architectural interventions in public space. At the threshold between controlled precision and calculated unpredictability, Sandbichler operates with structures, ornaments, and grids, which he analyzes, deconstructs, and reorganizes into new orders.

With objective correlative, the artist presents a new body of work. It is his fifth solo exhibition at Galerie Elisabeth & Klaus Thoman.

Parallel to the exhibition, Sandbichler is represented at the Albertina in Vienna with the site-specific intervention Ornamentale Verschränkung (2025). The work will be on view there from 11 December 2025 to 22 March 2026 as part of the exhibition Fascination Paper.
