molten rift
the molten rift is a crack deep within crystal landscapes & hidden jellies on planet earth.
a nest to rest.
a place for a hug.
hidden in rifts,
molten on ground.
The created landscape by artists Noushin Redjaian and Liza Sočan allows storytelling and glitches of the unknown to settle upon surfaces. The symbiosis of the two perspectives invites the body to search, to pause or to hide, before leaving again.
cracks on the floor,
a wool nest in the roof.
The exhibition molten rift is home to a nest in which ornaments of Persian tapestry find a place to rest. Artist Noushin Redjaian creates poetic sculptures that combine elements of the persian culture with her view on storytelling. By giving them a covered crystal surface, an archive of ornaments and memories can grow at its own pace. When they leave her studio, she says, her befriended artworks go to explore.
a play with salt
and finding sand.
To trace the nest, scents of hidden edibles by artist Liza Sočan emerge within the landscape. With her background in industrial design, she extracts elements from slovenian culture and hides seemingly simple flavors in complex forms. On a humorous playground, hidden sweet tastes tell stories that expand the meaning of the edible. Leftovers of food remain.

The exhibition molten rift with artists Liza Sočan and Noushin Redjaian at [tart vienna] shows an approach to connect two positions as a play with the perception of the visible. In search for hidden potentials in moments of lingering, molten rift uncovers traits of dreamy, political or unexpected fragments, creating blurred spaces and leaving traces in the unknown.
