The exhibition Metabolica by Thomas Feuerstein will transform the MQ Freiraum into a molecular factory starting in September 2025. This body of work, which the Austrian artist has been developing since 2017, will be presented in its entirety for the first time.
In Metabolica, artistic and scientific practices intersect: algae and their fatty acids are used to create new materials, which are then shaped into artworks and ultimately returned to the cycle. The exhibition opens up new perspectives on resources, circular economies, and visions for the future of society.
